Public Agencies and Non-profits

City of Morgan Hill Community CenterJump to:

A key mission of the Silicon Valley Energy Watch is assisting local government leaders, non-profits, and special districts in upgrading their facilities, better managing their energy use, and being energy efficiency leaders within their communities. We provide free customized energy audits, retrofit services, rebates, education, and technical assistance.

Audits

In partnership with Ecology Action, the Silicon Valley Energy Watch offers no-cost, no-obligation energy surveys to determine where your facilities have opportunities for energy and cost savings.  The results are detailed in a report containing recommended energy-efficiency upgrades, anticipated energy cost savings, retrofit costs, and the amount of instant rebates.  You will be able to see exactly how much the retrofit will cost and how long it will take to recoup your investment through reduced energy bills.

Turnkey Direct Installation Program

The Silicon Valley Energy Watch offers a turn-key, direct-installation program for many energy efficient lighting and refrigeration systems including:

  • Efficient and improved lighting
  • Occupancy and daylight sensors
  • LED exit signs
  • Refrigerator strip curtains
  • Cold drink vending machine sensors

Depending on the equipment you choose, some of these projects may be rebated from 30% to 100%.

Public or non-profit facilities that are eligible for this direct-install program are on the A1/A6, A10, and E19V rate schedule (rate schedules are listed on the utility bill).

*The Silicon Valley Energy Watch program can identify other energy-efficiency retrofit projects for your facilities and help you get rebates for these projects. Such projects may include boilers, chillers, computer power management, retrocommissioning, etc.

Rebates and Incentives

The Silicon Valley Energy Watch provides reduced fixed pricing on equipment and contracted labor, so our rebates and incentives will likely be more attractive than those offered by other programs. Depending on the equipment you choose, some lighting, refrigeration and vending projects may be rebated from 30% to 100%. We provide experienced contractors to perform the installation, detailed quality assurance inspections, and project management assistance throughout the process.

Employee Training

As part of our ongoing educational programs, the Silicon Valley Energy Watch provides education for facility managers, mechanical engineers, inspectors, and others. Trainings cover a range of energy efficiency topics, from new technologies and code changes to financial calculations for efficiency projects. Please see our Class Calendar for additional details and the latest schedule of classes. If your staff or agency has identified specific training needs that are not listed in our class schedule, please contact us to explore more options, including creating a specialized workshop at your facility.
